What is Best of Zillow?

Best of Zillow is a status earned by Zillow Premier Agent partners who go above and beyond for customers and demonstrate exceptional performance from the very first connection call through closing a successful transaction. Agent and broker partners who have earned Best of Zillow status unlock exclusive opportunities to enhance their brand, expand their share of Zillow connections, participate in exclusive partnership opportunities, and unlock new ways to engage with customers and enhance their bottom line.

Why are you changing the Best of Zillow program?

We’re evolving Best of Zillow to better serve you, our agent partners. In 2021 we made changes to Best of Zillow in an effort to better recognize agents that share our obsession with providing the best experience for home buyers and sellers. Since that change, we learned from our partners that there were some challenges facing the program, including lack of transparency in performance metrics, as well as rewards that don’t inspire progress and did not provide a clear path towards achieving Best of Zillow status. This feedback was critical to driving additional changes to the program to ensure that, at its core, Best of Zillow truly delivers on its objective.

This new evolution of the Best of Zillow program leverages a more simplified model, focusing on metrics that have the highest correlation to successful conversions. It also introduces exciting new rewards (like a digital badge for your Zillow profile!) and delivers more transparent reporting. Together this positions our agent network on a clearer and more actionable path toward success.

What is different in this new version from the current version of Best of Zillow?

Best of Zillow will continue to be the status used to recognize agents with a proven track record of helping customers successfully find and buy their next home. After listening to feedback from our partner community, we’ve improved the way we assess performance for Best of Zillow.

Previously, the way we assessed Best of Zillow status took into account a number of metrics and we surfaced the five most important ones in your Best of Zillow Report. However, beginning in May, we’ve streamlined the metrics used to determine Best of Zillow status down to the six key metrics that our data shows are the most important to driving more successful conversions. This shift removes the guesswork from what you need to focus on and how you can get there. Starting May 16, all six metrics will be reflected in an updated Best of Zillow report creating an experience that is 100% transparent, actionable, and acts as a blueprint for success.

Key updates:

  • Best of Zillow status will assess your performance in six key metrics most correlated to successful conversions. These include: Answer Rate, ALM Appointment Rate, Show Rate, Conversion Rate, CSAT, and CRM Usage.
  • The Best of Zillow Report has improved to reflect your performance in all six key metrics resulting in 100% transparency into your path towards Best of Zillow status.
  • We’re introducing updated rewards to deliver more of the things that matter to you — including a digital badge for your agent profile.
  • Zillow Academy will continue to be your one-stop shop for coaching on how to achieve Best of Zillow status.

Achieving Best of Zillow becomes your blueprint for success! Data shows that agents who achieve Best of Zillow status convert at 2.3x the rate of other Zillow Premier Agent partners. Additionally, we want to recognize agent and broker partners who have earned Best of Zillow status by rewarding them with exclusive opportunities to enhance their brand, expand their share of Zillow connections, participate in exclusive partnership opportunities, and unlock new ways to engage with customers to help enhance their bottom line.

Earning Best of Zillow status shows that an agent or team has a strong culture of being dedicated to the customer and supporting them throughout their home journey.

How do I earn the Best of Zillow status? What are the requirements?

We’ve streamlined the way that we assess Best of Zillow performance down to a total of six key metrics. These metrics were selected based on their correlation to conversion, meaning, the more you work toward achieving Best of Zillow, the better positioned you’ll be to convert buyers and sellers. Performance towards Best of Zillow and in each of these six key metrics can be found in your Best of Zillow Report. While your Best of Zillow status is assessed on a monthly basis, performance in each metric is assessed and refreshed daily.

The six key metrics to focus on include:

  • Answer Rate: Measures how often you’re answering the phone to engage with new connections within the last three months.
  • ALM Appointment Rate: Assess how often you’re asking for the appointment during the first connection call within the last three months.
  • Show Rate: Accounts for how many contacts you’ve moved into “Showing Homes” status in the Zillow Premier Agent app.
  • Conversion Rate: Recognizes agents that help customers complete their journey from connection to close over the last 12 months.
  • Customer Satisfaction (CSAT): Measures customer service based on customer feedback from survey responses.
  • CRM Usage: Assesses the frequency in which you’re using the Zillow Premier Agent app (or third party CRM integration) to move clients from connection to close.

When will these changes happen?

You will be able to see how you’re performing under the new Best of Zillow in your Best of Zillow Report starting May 16.

How can I use the Best of Zillow report?

Remove the guesswork! The Best of Zillow Report provides 100% transparency into where you need to focus in order to earn Best of Zillow status. The updated report will provide agents with insight into their performance at each key metric as well as their progress toward Best of Zillow.

Additionally, team leaders can see their overall team performance as well as that of individual agents on their team to better understand who on their team is performing at a Best of Zillow level and who has opportunities for improvement. Agents also get recommendations for focused training and development content to support their progress toward achieving Best of Zillow status directly from the report. We recommend checking your Best of Zillow report at least once a month. That way you can see how you are performing against the target numbers that inform your Best of Zillow status, and have the ability to see your progress month over month for every metric.
