In such a highly competitive first-person shooter game like Overwatch 2, maximizing your PC's performance is quite literally game-changing.
On this page of the Overwatch 2 wiki, we break down the best settings to maximize your frames per second (FPS) while reducing your latency and overall improving your PC's performance so you can focus on improving your performance in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 Best FPS Settings
Not everyone can have a top-tier gaming setup. If you do not own a curved monitor or high-end graphics card, fear not. By tweaking your settings in Overwatch 2, you can greatly improve the performance of your game.

Finding the right settings for your PC is all about balancing achieving a high frame rate while maintaining low input latency. The more frames per second (or FPS), the more realistic your gameplay will appear.
What is input latency? You have probably heard this referred to as "lag" more often than not, but input latency is the delay that occurs between your GPU sending a frame to your monitor and the moment the frame is actually displayed on the monitor.
So for high-tier competitive gameplay, the more frames you are able to view with minimum delay, you have a better chance of improving your reaction time.
Here are the best PC settings to improve your FPS in Overwatch 2, without sacrificing latency:
Best Video Settings for Overwatch 2
Display Mode | Fullscreen |
Target Display | Best Match |
Resolution | 1920 x 1080 (Maximum Monitor Refresh Rate)* |
Field of View | 103 |
Aspect Ratio | 16:9 |
Dynamic Render Scale | Off |
Render Scale | Automatic |
Frame Rate | Custom (Maximum Frame Rate set to Maximum Monitor Refresh Rate)* |
VSync | Off* |
Triple Buffering | Off |
Reduce Buffering | On |
Nvidia Reflex | Enabled |
Notes on Best Video Settings
- Your Resolution should automatically be set to the maximum refresh rate of your monitor. If you are unsure what your monitor's maximum refresh rate is, visit your Display Settings and open "Advanced Display Settings" to view your monitor's refresh rate.
- When setting your Custom Frame Rate, it is better to cap your Frame Rate at your Maximum Monitor Refresh Rate. This ensures that your PC will not suffer performance issues from trying to reach a higher FPS than your monitor is even capable of displaying.
- Turning VSync off can improve your gameplay performance, however, if you are experiencing screen tearing, you will need to turn VSync on to resolve this issue.
Best Graphics Quality Settings for Overwatch 2

Low to Medium Graphics Quality settings will consistently be ideal for improving your frames per second. However, these settings are largely up to preference, so experiment with your Graphics Quality settings to find what works best for you.
Graphics Quality | Low to Medium |
High Quality Upsampling | AMD FSR 1.0 |
Image Sharpening | Default |
Texture Quality | Low to Medium |
Texture Filtering Quality | Low - 1x |
Local Fog Detail | Low |
Dynamic Reflections | Off |
Shadow Detail | Low to Medium |
Model Detail | Low |
Effects Detail | Low to Medium |
Lighting Quality | Low |
Antialias Quality | Off |
Refraction Quality | Low |
Screenshot Quality | 1x Resolution |
Ambient Occlusion | Off |
Local Reflections | On |
Damage FX | Default |
Notes on Best Graphics Quality Settings
- There is an argument to be made that the more detail you are able to see in your gameplay, the better your reaction time can be. Overall, Low to Medium Graphics Quality settings will improve your FPS and latency across the board, but experiment to find the best happy-medium for yourself. If your PC can handle Medium Shadow Detail without suffering any frame drops or latency spikes than there is no reason to set Shadow Detail to Low.
- If your PC can handle it, setting your Texture Quality, Shadow Detail, and Effects Detail to Medium are all good graphics settings to prioritize above others.
General Tips for Improving FPS in Overwatch 2
- To keep an eye on your gameplay's performance, under the Video settings, select Details and turn "Display Performance Stats" to "ON". This will display a small bar in the top left that shows your PC's current performance, including framerate, GPU temperature, VRAM usage, network latency, and network interpolation delay.
- Under the Gameplay "General" settings, toggle the "Enable High Precision Mouse Input" beneath Miscellaneous to "ON".
- If your screen is feeling a little too visually cluttered, visit your Accessibility settings. In "General" settings, you can set your Camera Shake to "Reduced", and turn off "HUD Shake" and "Reduce Menu Movement".
Best Mouse Settings for Overwatch 2
The settings you choose for your mouse are largely up to your own personal preference. Even Overwatch League pros differ on what DPI and Sensitivity is best for Overwatch 2. This preference can come down to a number of factors, from what works best for your personal gaming setup, to which Class you prefer to play in Overwatch 2.
In general, most Overwatch 2 esports professionals prefer a low mouse sensitivity. This gives you more control over your aim overall, with less chances of making mistakes.
Here are the best mouse settings to choose from in Overwatch 2:
DPI | 500 DPI - 1700 DPI |
Sensitivity | 3 - 8 |
eDPI | 4000 eDPI - 6200 eDPI |

Since Overwatch 2 has a different Sensitivity setting in addition to the DPI of your mouse, you will need to adjust both your in-game sensitivity and your mouse's DPI to achieve your ideal mouse sensitivity.
This is where you determine your eDPI, by multiplying the DPI of your mouse with the in-game sensitivity settings of Overwatch 2.
How to Change Your Mouse Settings in Overwatch 2
Here is how you can change your mouse sensitivity in Overwatch 2:
- Click on the "Menu" or on PC press "Escape".
- Select "Options".
- Select "Controls".
- Under "General", navigate to "Mouse"
- Toggle the Sensitivity slider to adjust your in-game mouse sensitivity.
We recommend experimenting between the range of three and eight percent to find what sensitivity feels best to you.
Most gaming mice will have buttons that can be used to adjust the DPI of your mouse. However, if you want to measure the exact DPI your mouse is currently set to, the easiest way to adjust the DPI of your mouse is often to adjust your mouse's hardware through the manufacturer's software, if it is available to you.
To adjust the DPI of your mouse, you can also use the following steps:
- Visit the Settings App on your PC.
- Select "Devices".
- Select "Mouse" from the bar on the left.
- Click on "Additional mouse options" on the right side of the screen.
- With Mouse Properties pulled up, click on the "Pointer Options" tab.
- Adjust the slider beneath "Motion" to change your mouse DPI.
